I Registered
Ok, well it's on now. I just registered, and paid money, so I am serious. We have 13 1/2 weeks to get there, this won't be easy, but I am determined. Dixie, and Deb, we haven't heard from you in a while, register now. let us know your plan

wahoo, well that makes three of us
Now all we have to do is get "ol deb" to sign in. I have not been training, we have had a lot of cold weather, ice and snow too. But mostly I have been too busy and lazy to get out there. I am planning on picking it up, seriously in the next few weeks, since we only have a few weeks to go. Yikes the time is getting close.
Hey Deb, what's up??

I am registered!
Look at me I'm blogging! Amazing, this is the first time for this old chick which just proves you can teach an old chick new tricks. Yes, I am taking this seriously. I have put my money on the line by registering - training? Well, it was easier to put up the money that getting "all this" moving. I will have to drag my husband as my partner, or maybe my sister. If I take Boomer the wonder dog he will just socialize along the way - he likes exercise about as much as I do. Guess I better get started soon. I am buying a new pair of walking shoes for myself for Christmas - even Santa wouldn't do that to me! Love you guys, even though you are making our next girls' weekend a project!

Good morning
Great job, Dixie, I'm glad you have a partner for your walks. I also have a partner, his name is Max. Max is my three year old German Shepherd. He isn't really into this fast paced walking, he likes a nice stroll, but he's adapting. Sometimes I walk with Tucker, now he's quite the jogger. Tucker likes to be first and fast. You can see photos and stories about Max and Tucker on Dawn's blog tri2fnsh.blogspot.com. Now there's an athlete.

Training
I have never "blogged" before and I think it will be more difficult than the marathon. I walked one and a half miles this morning in 35 min. My walking partner will be Bart, my 7 month old puppy. He has a lot of enthusiasm and can pull me when I get tired!

The Turkey Trot
Well, I did it. I should say we did it. Bill and I walked, and ran a little the two mile walk at English Landings park in Parkville, MO. Thanksgiving morning was the coldest day this season, so far, it was in the 20s. Now that may be a nice age, but not a very good temperature for getting out early in the day and going for a little stroll. We accomplished our goal, however, and in record time. We finished the two mile walk in under 30 minutes. I was so proud of my self that I ate the rest of the day.
We started the training this morning with another two mile walk, well I did 2 miles Bill humored me with one.
Get on the blog and let me know how you are doing with your training. Love you all.

Welcom ladies
Hi, there girls. I want you to know that I have walked two miles twice now. I did one last week and one today. On Thursday is our annual Turkey Trot. That's a two mile walk in Parkville, Mo. The predicted temp for the morning is about 34 degrees. Yes, girls it's a little nippy.
Well, I just wanted you to be encouraged to get going, make tracks, and it won't be long until we're crossing that finish line in St. Louis. I can't wait to see you all and have a blast.
Love ya, lots.
